Our chefs make as much as possible from scratch, even down to stock and sauces. In fact, we’re so passionate about freshness that we have our own garden at The Link, which our chefs harvest from regularly.
Executive Chef Matt Donovan, alongside his family and experienced staff, has been passionate about delivering unparalleled hospitality to the Coffs Coast since 2008.
The DONOVANS story started with the Surf Club, back in 2008. When the opportunity arose to take the helm and establish a seaside dining venue, Matt couldn’t pass it up. Soon, word got around about the fresh, local food and the flavours. And the views? Well, they were amongst the best in town. It was only natural that events, conferences and weddings should follow too.
Of course, Matt imparted his love of excellent hospitality and phenomenal food to his kids. As they grew up, they worked at DONOVANS, their Dad’s passion contagious not just for them but anyone who worked there. In fact, some of the familiar DONOVANS faces in the kitchen started out their career as floor staff at the Surf Club.
While the menu changes up at least once a year, there are several non-negotiables: use as much fresh, local produce as possible to create delicious, seasonal meals.
The Link joined the DONOVANS family in late 2024, and the rest, as they say, is history.
